Terms of Service

1. Agreement and who we are

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Crameleon (“Crameleon”, “we”, “our”, “us”), an AI-powered exam preparation and career tool operated from Ontario, Canada. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Crameleon. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm you have obtained any required parental or guardian consent.

3. Accounts

Accounts are created via Google sign-in through Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Do not share your credentials or allow others to access your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it current. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

4. Acceptable use

You may use Crameleon only for legitimate personal study and career-preparation purposes. You must not:

• Upload materials you do not have the right to share (e.g. commercially copyrighted textbook scans)
• Use Crameleon to facilitate cheating on a live or take-home exam
• Submit AI-generated content from Crameleon as your own work in any assessed context that prohibits AI use
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our AI outputs at scale
• Share account credentials with others
• Abuse the platform through automated or excessive requests
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Academic integrity

Using AI-generated practice questions to prepare for exams is a legitimate study practice. However, policies vary by institution. You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with your institution's academic integrity and AI-use policies. Crameleon accepts no liability for academic integrity consequences arising from your use of the service.

6. AI-generated content — important disclaimer

All practice exam questions, solutions, study-helper responses, resume feedback, and other AI-generated outputs are produced by large language models (including Anthropic Claude and DeepSeek) and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information.

• Crameleon outputs are study aids only. Always verify answers and solutions against your official course materials, textbooks, and instructor guidance.
• We make no guarantee that any specific question will appear on your actual exam.
• Crameleon does not provide professional, financial, legal, medical, or academic advice of any kind.
• Resume feedback is informational only and does not constitute career counselling or employment advice.
• We are not liable for any academic, professional, or financial outcome arising from reliance on AI-generated content.

7. Uploaded content

You retain ownership of all files you upload (course materials, resumes). By uploading, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process those files solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. You confirm that you have the right to upload the content. We do not claim ownership of your uploads and do not use them to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for retention and deletion details.

8. Subscriptions and billing

Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) via Stripe. Prices are shown in Canadian or US dollars as indicated at checkout.

• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on file.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
• Price changes: We will give at least 30 days' notice before changing subscription prices. Continued use after the change date constitutes acceptance.

9. Refund and cancellation policy

We want you to be satisfied with Crameleon. Here is our refund policy:

• 7-day money-back guarantee: If you are not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of your first paid charge and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.
• Partial-period refunds: Outside the 7-day window, we do not issue prorated refunds for unused time in a billing period. Your access continues until the end of the period you paid for.
• Service issues: If a technical failure on our end prevented you from accessing core features for a significant portion of your billing period, contact us — we will review and may issue a credit or refund at our discretion.
• Founding Member plans: Founding Member subscriptions are subject to the same 7-day guarantee. After 7 days, they are non-refundable given the discounted lifetime pricing.
• Annual plans: Annual subscriptions are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of payment. After 7 days, no refund is issued for the remaining months.

To request a refund, email support@crameleon.com with your account email and order details. We process refunds within 5–10 business days.

10. Intellectual property

Crameleon's platform, brand, software, and original content are our property and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for personal, non-commercial study purposes.

AI-generated outputs (practice exams, solutions, feedback) are provided to you for your personal use. We make no copyright claims over outputs generated from your own uploaded materials.

11. Service availability

We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. AI generation depends on third-party providers (Anthropic, DeepSeek) and may occasionally be slow or unavailable. We are not liable for losses arising from service interruptions.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Crameleon's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $50.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, academic outcomes, or data loss.

13. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach. On termination, your right to access the service ends immediately. Sections 6, 10, 12, 14, and 15 survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 15 days in advance.
