Final grade calculator FAQ
How is the required final grade calculated?⌄
We use: required = (desired − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight, where weight is the final's share of the course. It tells you the mark you need on the final to finish with your target grade.
What if my final replaces my lowest midterm?⌄
Use Advanced mode and enter each assessment with its weight. Leave the final (and any not-yet-graded item) blank — the calculator treats the unentered weight as the final.
Is this accurate for Ontario / Canadian universities?⌄
Yes — the math is the standard weighted-average used by every Ontario university. For letter-grade and GPA conversion (e.g. Queen's 4.3 scale), use Crameleon's GPA tracker.
What does a result over 100% mean?⌄
It means your target isn't reachable with the final alone. We show the best grade you can still finish with if you ace the final.
